If you are a baker, candy maker, chocolatier, pâtissier, patissiere, confectioner, boulanger, pastry chef, or someone who knows exactly which stores sell the best desserts... we need your help this Sunday!

Make, bake, or buy a dessert, cake, candy, sweet, or something appropriate for our annual Mother's Day Dessert Auction! Please bring in your desserts on Sunday morning for the 11:15am Auction.

If you are or moonlight as an auctioneer, we can use you too!  (If you are interested in a career as an auctioneer, watch this video.)

AND... most importantly... show up and bid on the auction! Buy a cake or two! Buy some cookies! Buy some chocolates! Eat them yourself or give them to someone you love (like your mom)!

Celebrate Ascension Day with our Father Matt's Steakhouse Night at 6pm. We will have more than 30 pounds of prime rib eye steak, cooked to order by Father Matt and as much steak as you can eat. We will also have a baked potato bar, caprese salad (tomatoes, mozzarella, basil), and a selection of cheeses, desserts, red and white wines, beer, and soda. $25 per person, children and teens are free.  PLEASE RSVP

The Feast is followed by Mass with Hymns at 7:30pm.

On Thursdays (as announced) from 8:00 am to 8:45am Father Matt leads a Zoom Bible Study.  Join using this Zoom Link (PW “BOLTON”). Each Bible Study will be recorded and posted to our YourTube Page, so you can catch it later if you miss the live version.

Father Matt’s Bible Study takes an academic look at the Scriptures, providing historical and geopolitical context, narrative context, and discussions about translations and manuscript variants. Over the past years we have read numerous books from start to finish, including Isaiah, Ezekiel, Job, Ruth, Obadiah, Jonah, Daniel, The Psalms, Gospel of Matthew, Gospel of John, 1&2 Thessalonians, Philemon, and Revelation. Currently, we are reading the Pentateuch (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy).

On Thursdays from 10am to noon we offer a weekly Lectionary Bible Study.  Our group is led by our Director Adult Education, Michael Moynihan.  Each week we gather to discuss the prior week’s sermon and look ahead at the coming Sunday’s Scripture (Old Testament, Psalm, Epistle, and Gospel) in the lectionary assigned by the Church.  The conversation is free flowing and fun and often includes good food.

In late August we offer Vacation Bible School for Children and Teens (CITs & Counsellors).  Our 2026 VBS will be offered August 17-19, 9:00am-12:00pm.

What will the Children Learn at VBS?

• Children learn about Jesus Christ through a variety of age-appropriate and fun activities. Each Bible Study will be discussed and linked to fun games, crafts, and outdoor activities.

Marie Main, our beloved Parish Administrator, will retire on May 31, 2026. 

Marie has served as our Parish Administrator for fourteen years and has been a constant source of knowledge and kindness. She brings pastoral and graceful dedication to everything she does for Christ Church. She is wonderful, and we will greatly miss having her in the office each day. She will remain an active parishioner at Christ Church in retirement.

Mark your calendars for 11:15am, Sunday, May 31, when we will have a wonderful celebration for Marie.

The Saint Michael's Conference provides high school and college-aged young people the opportunity to:

• Deepen their faith in Christ
• Learn more about how to practice their faith all year long
• Experience true Christian friendship with peers from around the country

Fr. Matt is one of the priests on staff at the Conference, and also attended the Conference when he was in high school and in college, and he was also a Counselor at St. Mike’s in the late 1990s and early 2000s. 

The Conference is one full overnight week: 4pm, Sunday, July 21, 2026, through 12pm, Saturday, August 1, 2026. Carpooling is generally the best way for drop off and pick-up (and Conferees with cars can drive themselves).

The Registration Fee of $635 covers conference attendance and 6 nights and 7 days of room and board. The bill for $635 will be emailed to you in April with a July 1 deadline. If you need financial aid, the Conference and Christ Church can definitely help; please let Fr. Matt know.  
 
Saint Michael’s Conference is a wonderful anchor throughout high school and college and a place where it was fun and easy to be an Episcopalian and meet great people.

Food Pantry

Parishioners are invited to donate any of the following items on or before the FIRST Sunday of each month. 
Healthy cereal (grocery store size, no Costco or BJs boxes)
Shelf-stable milk *
14-16oz. cans of  fruit, corn, peas, or beans 
6oz. cans of tuna
1lb. packages of rice *
Pasta and 14-25oz. PLASTIC jars of spaghetti sauce
Reusable bags such as Fresh Direct Bags!!!
PLEASE - NO odd, old, opened or expired food.

The items that we need may be dropped off anytime in the collection bins located  between the double glass door entrance to the Ranck Building or Sundays in the Outreach Basket in the Narthex. All donations go monthly to the Food Pantry Program at Sts. John, Paul and Clement in Mount Vernon. Financial donations of any size are gratefully are greatly appreciated. Please designate donations for "Outreach".
