“Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.” (The Book of Common Prayer). Confirmation is administered only when a Bishop visits Christ Church.
Reception in the Anglican Communion (a related rite) is the rite when a Christian who has already been baptized and confirmed is received by the Bishop into the Episcopal Church. We recognize the sacrament of baptism and the sacramental rite of confirmation that was administered by a bishop in another denomination. The rites of confirmation and reception are quite similar.
If you are interested in being confirmed or received at Christ Church please contact the rector.
