Coat Drive 2025
Once again, the Outreach Committee asks Christ Church/Pelham parishioners and our friends throughout Westchester County and New York City, to open their hearts and closets to bring out slightly used or new coats and make a gift to our most vulnerable brothers and sisters; those who are unable to provide the necessary warmth of a coat for themselves or their children. 2025 Coat Drive boxes are located in both the Narthex and the lower entrance (inside the glass doors) for you to easily drop off coats of all sizes from infants to adults. Once a week, any coats we receive will be taken by Outreach Committee members to a registered distribution center. Dropoff hours are 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week. The Coat Drive runs from Nov. 3-Dec. 31. With your help, one less New Yorker will face the winter without a coat. As of December 9, we have collected over 500 coats. Let's see if we can collect 750 donated coats in 2025!
Dessert Auction Fundraiser
Christ Church bakers!!! On Sunday, Dec. 21, the Outreach Committee will sponsor another mouth-watering, delicious Christmas Dessert Auction to be held in Hoag Hall. Here’s what you can do to help with our Outreach initiatives: Bake (or buy, but don’t be scared) your all-time favorite holiday desserts – cakes, pies, tortes, brownies, cookies, candies. Bring your goodies to Hoag Hall before the 10 AM service, with your name and a delicious description of the delicacy on an index card. Add your starting bid, as well. At Coffee Hour, the bidding begins! Father Matthew Mead will be our auctioneer. These auctions are a lot of fun, and your Christmas dinner dessert will be waiting for you. Just check out the desserts, then bid! All funds will go to benefit the recipients of our feeding programs and other charitable initiatives throughout 2026. For more information, call Carla Carroll at 646-245-5618.
Feeding Ministries
"Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and took care of you?" Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me." The Gospel commands us to love our neighbor, feed the hungry, and support those who are in need. Here are some opportunities at Christ Church for you to help feed people who are hungry.
Volunteer for Bagged Lunch Program: On the first Thursday of each month our men's group provides bagged lunches at Trinity New Rochelle's daily lunch program. The men meet the Wednesday evening before that first Thursday of each month at 6pm to make 120 sandwiches and pack 60 bagged lunches. Speak to Andy DesRault for more information.
Volunteer for Food Pantry: The Christ Church Daughter's of the King meet the first Friday each month to serve at the Food Pantry at Saint John Paul and Clement in Mount Vernon. Speak to Deacon Chisara for more information.
