DESCRIPTION:Our annual Requiem Mass for September 11\, 2001\, will be offer
ed this evening at 5:15pm in the Church. \nAlmighty God\, our prayers are
offered for all of those whose lives were affected by the attacks on Sept
 ember 11\, 2001\, especially Montgomery Hord\, a member of this parish\, a
 nd Michael Boccardi\, Thomas E. Hynes\, Joseph Leavey\, Robert McLaughlin\
 , Amy O’Doherty\, Joseph Shea\, Daniel J. Shea\, Robert Scandole and Mic
hael Tamuccio\, the Pelham community members who lost their lives during t
he attacks.  We pray for all who were killed\, for all who lost family me
 mbers\, friends\, neighbors\, and co-workers\, for all who were injured\,
and for all who were traumatized in body or mind. Amen.\nMost merciful Fat
her \, we give you thanks for the courage and work of all first-responders
 \, firefighters\, police officers\, military personnel\, medical workers\,
elected officials\, chaplains\, construction workers\, and volunteers who
assisted at the World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11\, 2001 an
d in the weeks afterward\, and who offered support and guidance for all wh
o mourned.  Amen.\nO God\, you made us in your own image: We give you tha
nks for the Pelham Interfaith Council and the collegiality that interfaith
and ecumenical efforts foster\; look with compassion on the whole human f
amily\; break down the walls that separate us\; unite us in bonds of love\
; and work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes
on earth\; that\, in your good time\, all nations and races may serve you
in harmony around your heavenly throne. Amen.\nO God and Father of all\, w
hose Son commanded us to love our enemies: Lead them and us from prejudice
to truth: deliver them and us from hatred\, cruelty\, and revenge\; and i
n your good time enable us all to stand reconciled before you. Amen.\nGive
courage and faith to those who are bereaved\, that they may have the comf
ort of a reasonable and holy hope\, in the joyful expectation of eternal l
ife with those they love. Amen.\nLord\, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred\, let us sow love\; where there is injury\, pardon\
; where there is discord\, union\; where there is doubt\, faith\; where th
ere is despair\, hope\; where there is darkness\, light\; where there is s
adness\, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to cons
ole\; to be understood as to understand\; to be loved as to love. For it i
s in giving that we receive\; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned\; an
d it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
