CONFIRMATION CLASS 2016-2017

The Prayer Book states about Confirmation: “In the course of their Christian development, those baptized at an early age are expected, when they are ready and have been duly prepared, to make a mature public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their Baptism and to receive the laying on of hands by the bishop.”

The Confirmation Class this year will be led by Father Matt, Deacon Katie, and Michael Kurth, our Seminarian.

This year we are offering a class that meets about once a month, beginning at the end of October and continuing into the spring.  In general the classes rotate between Sunday mornings or Sunday early evenings.  The Sunday morning classes meet from 9:00 a.m. until 9:50 a.m. and class attendees are expected to stay for the 10:00 a.m. Eucharist or attend the 8:00 a.m. Eucharist before class.  The evening classes meet at 4:00 p.m. and will include time for preparing dinner, attending the 5:00 p.m. Come As You Are Eucharist and participating in a discussion over dinner.

Food will be provided, though we welcome any donations to help defray the expense.  We will explore topics that are appropriate for and of interest to 21st century teens who attend an Episcopal Church.

Any person who is between 8th and 12th grade is invited to join the class – even if you have already been Confirmed by the Bishop.   An outline of the schedule is below.  Please note that we do not yet have a date for the Bishop’s visit.

If you wish to register for the class, please contact the Parish Office.
